NEW TOOL

Purchased a punch and die set a couple of weeks ago and I hadn't had any time to try it out.  YIPPEE! This weekend is free of activities.  There were no type of instructions included so I just started trying it out.  Made some small copper discs that I stamped on a design, cute but a little small.  Had to take a clean and feed dogs break went out through the garage and I noticed in one of my not sure what to do with boxes a small red and white tin plate.......PERFECT..........This would go great with one of my oldest daughters outfits.  She just sent me pictures and a jewelry request for a mini-vacation she is going on.  PUNCHING TIME :)                          SO LONG VINTAGE TIN-HELLO NEW EARRINGS.

Back To Work...

I am a construction electrician and have periods of off-time which I really enjoy! This allows me time to focus on my jewelry making but I am back to work which is good but...So my time is really limited with soccer, softball and puppies.  I also show Australian Shepherds and currently have a litter of 3 cute little guys.  I did get a chance to watch a great DVD on cold connections by Susan Lenart Kazmer.  Can't wait to try out some of these ideas.  So for now here's a warm fuzzy picture :)

Eye Test

So, I was asked to make a pair of earrings with moons.  Yeeeea I have a couple of moons I will work up something.  Well the moons only had sparkle on one side, of course it was same side (hate that).  I dug out the sparkle and remembered of some very small (We're talking 2mm you know the ones you buy online when you first start buying things and don't read the size cause they look big in the picture.) red coral beads I have that would fit perfect.  Hammered small divots in check area of the moons and glued in corals, both sides :)  I measured out staggered lengths of pee-wee chain, hung size15 turquoise sead beads more coral on hand hammered paddles of 24g wire and wrapped.  I felt like I was making Barbie earrings eek!  What a test for my old hands and eyes let alone my perfection obsession... Cu-dos to you beaders

My Step-by Step Wire Jewelry Submission:

Many thanks to my personal editor Bit, what a pleasure he is to work with.
These are the earrings

I would like to give thanks to my assistant photographers Trey and Taylor (pictured above).  This would not have been possible without their keen since of mastery.

I thought my photo was a bit toothy but they are the masters...
